Hi, I'm
Akshat Tyagi
Entrepreneur · Environmentalist · Explorer
A waterpreneur on a mission to give clean, treated water back to nature. I build purposeful businesses, lead passionate teams, explore the world, and believe water is the defining challenge of our generation.
Not just a founder — a believer
Akshat Tyagi's story starts at BITS Pilani, where a postgraduate project on the campus's sewage treatment problem lit a fire that hasn't dimmed since. He and his co-founder walked away from corporate offers — "with entrepreneurial spirits ablaze, a taste for calculated risk, and a pocketful of our own money" — to build something that actually mattered.
He leads with curiosity, tenacity, and a deep respect for nature. His approach is never purely technical — he sees every treatment plant as a vote for the kind of world we leave behind. He builds companies, manages teams, advocates for policy, engages with technology, and still finds time to explore new cultures and connect with people across the world.
Beyond the boardroom, Akshat is a traveler, a connector, and a perpetual learner. He believes that meeting diverse people and immersing in new environments is what keeps both him and his work ahead of the curve.
The passions behind the work
Water isn't a sector to Akshat — it's a calling. The mission has never wavered: give clean, treated water back to nature and secure it for generations to come. Every decision traces back to this.
Travel is not a break from work — it's fuel for it. Connecting with diverse cultures and meeting people with radically different worldviews sharpens Akshat's thinking in ways no boardroom ever could.
Great solutions require great teams. Akshat leads with empathy and high standards — nurturing a culture where accountability and environmental purpose go hand in hand.
Akshat combines deep domain expertise with a restless appetite for technology — from engineering smarter treatment systems to leveraging digital platforms to communicate the urgency of sustainable water management.
Real change runs on policy. Akshat actively engages India's water governance landscape — ensuring that ground-level innovation reaches the corridors of decision-making where it can multiply its impact.
Sustainability isn't a value to tick — it's baked into every decision. Akshat sees environmental responsibility as both a moral obligation and the only viable long-term path in a resource-constrained world.
I didn't start a company — I made a commitment to the planet. Every treatment plant we build is a promise that clean water will flow back into the world, not poison it.

The principles I live by
Every decision traces back to a single question: does this move us closer to a water-secure world? Purpose is the compass, not the plan.
Leaving corporate safety nets was a choice made with open eyes. Meaningful impact demands real risk — taken thoughtfully, pursued relentlessly.
"Insights from customers are the cornerstone of improvement." Every installation is a conversation; every challenge is a design brief waiting to be solved.
Built for 50 years, not 5. Akshat optimizes for decades — building infrastructure, relationships, and institutions that outlast any business cycle.
SUSBIO — where the mission takes form
Founded in 2013, SUSBIO (Sustainable Biosolutions Pvt. Ltd.) is Akshat's primary vehicle for environmental impact. The company manufactures India's most advanced packaged sewage and effluent treatment plants — plug-and-play, fully automatic, CPCB Class A compliant, built for a 50-year lifecycle.
500+ installations across 24 Indian states. Clients from Radisson Blu and Bisleri to TATA Projects and BITS Pilani. This is what a decade of purposeful building looks like.
